Admissions
Several factors are considered for admission to Bodwell. We seek cultural diversity and look for students of academic and leadership potential from around the world. Our students succeed in a challenging English-speaking academic environment, demonstrate an interest in a variety of co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, and are committed to serving their communities. Our Admissions staff evaluates various aspects including academic records from the previous three years, a personal profile, reference letters, an interview, and other demonstrated achievements.
Academics
Bodwell’s trimester system gives students several advantages. First, there are three entrance opportunities every year, in September, January, and April, giving students schedule flexibility. Second, the system allows a motivated student to complete one-and-a-half academic grades in each calendar year. This allows students to complete high school faster and begin their university studies sooner. Students can use the April term (Summer term) for valuable overseas travel and language learning and still be on pace with their peers to complete high school within a standard timeframe.

English Language Programs for International Students
Summer Program
Bodwell’s University Summer Programs was the first campus-based summer program for international youth in Western Canada. We have now enjoyed 20 wonderful summers! We utilize indoor and outdoor learning environments to create a truly unique Canadian educational experience.
With four different programs offered, students learn English in unique settings and contexts. All programs give students the experience of life away from home, the opportunity to make friends from around the world, and a great chance to develop their self-confidence.
Academic Preparation
The Academic Preparation Program (APP) is an introduction to the Canadian high school curriculum for students ages 13-17. Using a theme-based approach to create an engaging learning environment, students will improve their English skills rapidly. Classes include mathematics, science, social studies and fine arts, as well as physical education. The program eases students into the new academic year by setting the standard of expectation reserved for the high school program.
Boarding
Bodwell’s Boarding Program goes beyond a bed, room and meal plan, typical components of any boarding setting. Rather, we are a youth development program focused squarely on boarders’ self-improvement. We provide a safe, active, and inclusive living environment where students strengthen their life skills in order to succeed in school and mature into responsible global citizens.
At Bodwell, we believe that learning continues long after the end of the school day. While relaxation after class is indeed important, students’ time living here represents a priceless chance to get involved and to grow through everyday challenges. Our boarders gain structured experiences in order to practice self-reliance, prepare for post-secondary studies, and build a strong résumé for a future career. They find that the Boarding Program is a major part of their overall experience at Bodwell.
